Mum
I awake, and for that split second, I think, was it a dream, but then I remember it was not a dream.
In the still of the darkness, I hear your voice, your distinctive voice, talking, singing, laughing in my head.
I feel the shape of your hand in mine, softness of your skin on my fingertips, texture of your hair, the air fills with your familiar fragrance.
Your embrace me, kiss my forehead and smile, your whole face lights up and then you are gone.
Mum you will never leave us we will just think of you as resting in a place where you will shine so very brightly. You will live on in our hearts, as nothing loved is ever lost, you were loved so much Mum, Nanny.
